Hi tatolazo,
can you publish some more data of your boat? max. beam, beam at WL and others would be nice to know…is there some distortion in your pictures? On your first picture the boat looks quite wide, in the third really narrow…

Hi,
I have a question concerning the sail numbers. The international rules say:
6.3.1 The boat number will be marked mid-height on each sail, starboard above port side, with clearly visible numbers at least 10 cm high of and 1 cm thick.
So far so good … but I have a number with three digits (253) and it is nearly impossible to get it into the sail with 10cm digits …
In Germany I can use smaller digits, but what can I do to comply with the international rules? Is it allowed to reduce the size in this case? Or may I leave the first digit?
I am not a RG65 sailor, but I am addicted to IOM. We number our sails with only the last two digits of the registered hull number and leave room for a number ‘1’ to be added in case there is a clash of numbers at the start of an event. A ‘1’ is easy to add with a piece of electrical tape and can be easily removed without any damage to the sail. Is it not possible to lower the position from (quote) mid-height, and so gain a few more cms. room, to add the third number?.
Cheers
Ralph
Thanks,
I know the IOM regulations but the RG sails are somewhat smaller although the same hight of the digits is used. My hope was that one of the guys from South America will comment on my question. Those guys should have the longest experience …
Hi, Haegar:
isisagoodun is right.
But is not a IOM regulation.
It´s an ISAF regulation.
E6 APPENDIX G IDENTIFICATION ON SAILS
(b) Rule G1.1© is changed to
a sail number, which shall be the last two digits of the boat
registration number or the competitor’s personal number
allotted by the relevant issuing authority. A single-digit
number shall be prefixed with a ‘0’. There shall be space
in front of a sail number for the prefix ‘1’, which may be
required by the race committee where there is a conflict
between sail numbers. Where a conflict remains, the race
committee shall require that sail numbers be suitably
changed until the conflict is resolved. Any prefix ‘1’ or other
required change shall become part of the sail number.
Maximo, you are right. IOM uses the ISAF regulations.
Hi Cortison¨
Here you are, a picture of the hull and a size indicator. Probably maximo can tell you the performance of the hull, used by Christian Roessner ( the designer) at the 2008 Sudamerican Championship.
Tato Lazo.
Consider this an an official notice/posting of the US RG-65 Class:

Wow that is a beautiful boat. Nice job. What design is that I would like to build one myself. I already have a jif 65.
Byron USA #06
It’s my own design and there are no drawings. The hull is 19 cm wide, total weight is 1018 gr.

Dick, I saw on a Netherlands RG65 site that you already have 20+ boats registered there. What are the other boats? they can’t all be as original as yours.:D:
Just a tidbit of Class information:
I registered our 47th. US RG-65 today and we also have over 250 enrolled subscribers to the class website.
It’s not to late to join, grab a free set of plans and have a boat on the water in time for the summer sailing season… and you don’t have to be an AMYA member to join the Class Owners Association.
Incredible workmanship, beautiful boat!
You guys are in a league of your own…maybe someday!!
Hi Tataloso,
do you have a website for your yachts. How much is your
rg65 like the one in photos .does it come in kit form. nice looking boat.
thanks Scott.
Hi. The current US Web page is on Yahoo Groups:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/RG65SailboatsUS/
Registration is easy, and then you get access to a large number of files. There’s no kit boat available right now, but I understand at least one is in the works.

I am interested in all this extra info about the RG65 but is the Yahoo group the only place to find it? This R/C sailing site is very easy and unobtrusive in it’s sign up requirements. I just had a go at the Yahoo sign up and failed (probably my fault) but found the info they required rather ‘over the top’ and I already have a perfectly functioning email address without needing to sign up for another one.
