Americas cup gossip

Yes, they call it social stuff, but it’s the NSA
They have got You already with the monthly patches for any OS you want.

I tried the AC app and noticed a delay with the YouTube live video.
The AC app was 2 minutes earlier, but at the virtual eye it looked like ETNZ missed some gates or mark.
No laylines and no L.R.

…perhaps a return of Mrs Fay Coregasm is in order !!

On a more serious note, ENTZ ‘racing’ seemed utterly pointless although there’s a part of me that saw it as the Kiwi’s sticking two fingers up at the AC ‘Establishment’. Other than that, was it really anything more than ‘showboating’?

Row

Got luv the ETNZ media teams sense of humour with this short vid of Race 2

Murray Jones (O.R crew guest) is asked by U.S commentary whether they can Jybe like this

We we we can, its its itsobliviously lost for words

//youtu.be/4wv8eg0H9WQ

They can go 20+ kts upwind, and they have guys jmping off the boat for fun, and they STILL can get a water skiier in the water on the off day??

yeah but its still just 12 guys playing with themselves…

I noticed on my AC race tracker application that there is a 45-second delay. So you may use that to make a last-moment bet on who does what?

Did anyone explain why the one guy jumped off the boat just before the start?

Artemis “Big Blue” is out of the shed undergoing stress tests …those diagonal beams attaching to the rear cross beam (rather than connecting at hull/beam) creating bit of interesting structural chatter

Hey Jim, can see your signature forklift burn-out marks on the pavement :stuck_out_tongue: !!!

from the sailing anarchy site, some boat speed polars have been posted.

how high off the water is the hull when it’s foiling?

i think it about 4-6 feet… if you look at this photo enlarged figure the skipper is 6 feet and he is standing, but he is standing down in the cockpit which means hes got about 4-5 feet of torso and legs exposed…

L.R. is racing the short course today

The boat looks smaller on TV, almost as short as the AC45s

'L.R. is racing the short course today ’

first win for L.R. and ETNZ

Due to the weather conditions not as fast as ETNZ but quite spectacular with those eleven roman centurions in their silver shining armors :watching3

It looks to me like the AC72s are more of the Formula 1 type of boat, with the boats having speacial wings(the foils,) the crew wearing special racing suits, and the helmets with the special audio equipment. I’ll bet there is a small display on the tiller pedestal that has information on the wind, boat speed, distance, foil angle, etc. I know the tactician has a small computer screen on him to get that special information.

That commentator- Andy Green- is he the guy that produces the TV reality show Bullrun?

just about every racing sailing boat has those kinds of displays…

heck even many cruising boats have instruments displaying boats speed, wind speed, apparent wind angle, VMG, polar diagrams…

the biggest difference between what a cruising boat would use and a racing boat, would be the instrument accuracy…

first two boat match and the second didn’t reach the finish in time

are my expectations too high?

kiwis’ put on a Clinic today. also looked like they had more speed on all points of sail…plus no fouls…

OMG …hoping when Artemis come to play that they have some closer racing with Luna Rossa ! The amount of time ETNZ have put on the water training shows in the results … well done.

Interesting to note no up-wind foiling in yesterdays race … ETNZ not using top gear yet !
