Yep, it’s a 3 element design. Really cool to work on/in it. Some of the parts I built include the control arms for the rear elements. About 1 week to build a pair.
Sailing on he 13th… Maybe that is a stroke of genius to break the spell of bad luck.
As for foiling… If you want to be considered a contender, logic dictates - they will have to be foiling also.
Prada wing was fixed pretty quick and now GAME ON… ETNZ and her reflection out playing together.
Oh and point about ETNZ not sailing in high wind conditions …it has been reported at the mast head is about 33 knots with a good 25 to 28 knots on the water at times. With 60 knots of apparent wind across the deck, the boys are saying the wind noise now affecting onboard communications. …what was that ! you want one or sugars in your tea Deano ?
60 across the deck in a maximum of 28 knots you get some very scary boat speed numbers above 50+ Knts.
2nd gear working well …now what happens when they take the hand brake off !?!
My shop is in front of the old boatplane docks. My shop is in the old B-25 engine building.
The entire San Francisco skyline is right there.
Here are some pics.
Pierre from vSail has tweeted that the Artemis boat #2 is already in technical difficulties…? I am not sure how he knows that, but sounds ominous.
Oh yeah and they gave Hutchinson the flick too… Loick is now on the helm.
