Hi Larry,
Some photos of the hull.
The rudder is not original.
Some one has removed the fin in frond of the rudder to be able to install this rudder blade.

Hugo

Well… that is exactly what we did as well. The boat was originally designed in or around the 1920’s and had a skeg rudder. It was just not efficient (what WERE they thinking back then?) so we removed the skeg after molding the hull and installed a balanced blade rudder instead. Your boat in EXTREMELY close to the one that I still offer. I rarely get any interest in it since it is not competitive in any class and no interest in it being an O.D.
I do have a guy here locally that loves the baot and sails it routinely and gets interest in his. Let me get some pics of it and I will send them for you to see.
Hi Larry,
Do you have the pictures of the A class?
The restauration of my boat goes according plan.
Some new photos.
The boat is re-painted in a new of colors

Today I have been sailing with the A-class and a Windstar from ROBBE (IOM).
Than you realise the differance in speed between the 2 boats.
On the last photo you can see that the Windstar is on the plane!!

Hugo
How does the Robbe Windstar sail?
I heard that to be IOM “class legal” you need to change a few things! http://home.comcast.net/~jrflorida/kit_ioms.html
Thanks
and nice pics

Hugo,
looking very nice indeed! The paint scheme reminds me somewhat of Endeavor II. Sorry I have been so slow in getting any pics uploaded… mostly do to the fact that I have not done so on this site yet… so I have to sit down and read how to get it done. I will get you some though I promise. I have 2 “A” Class boats that I think you will get a kick out of… the one “6 Meter” being VERY close to yours. Very nice indeed, I completely enjoyed the pictures. Makes me want to get to the lake. I confess, I did make it there for an hour this weekend, but the winds were up and I have a screaming M class that was a lot of fun to tear up the place. I don’t like manufacturing the development class boats (too much research all the time) but I do have fun sailing them!
More pics when you get the chance,
Larry
OK…well there is some monkey business now…because I can’t “log in” according to this crazy thing. It won’t let me upload the file until I am… and yet it lets me reply when it says you can’t do that either unless you are logged in. So… as soon as I sort this out I can upload one pic I have here handy.
Hi Wis,
The Windstar is a very good sailing IOM boat.
For it’s price I think it’s one of the best you can buy.
I’m not familiar with the IOM rules.
Hi Larry,
I used the colours of the Endeaver II for the A-class.
I also have the problem of multiple boats.
A-class
Rubin from Graupner
Windstar from Robbe
Triana from Robbe (trimaran)
Butterfly from Graupner (trimaran)

Hugo
I thought that it looked familiar! Nice job and it is a pretty paint scheme.
I still get the window that says YOU MUST BE LOGGED IN TO USE THIS PAGE when I try to insert a file. Anyone explain to me how to get a picture uploaded I would really appreciate it.
I think I have solved the picture deal… although I have not learned how to insert them in the post the way Hugo does… but Hugo, just for you… this is a 6 Meter “A” class and should measure up very closely to yours.
This one has the skeg still inplace forward of the rudder, although the paddle style rudder that was originally used was replaced with a balanced rudder which dramatically improved performance and made it easier on the rudder servo to operate.

Hi Larry,
Nice boat.
What are the dimensions?
Hugo
Hi Hugo,
Originally designed for “free sailing” back in the 1920’s it was one of the early models adapted to R/C. LOA 65", LWL 42", Beam 11.75, Draft 9.5", Displacement 26.5 lbs, Sail area 1115 sq."
Makes for a fine sailing and solid dependable model as you proably already know since yours seems quite similar.
