Hi!
The newest member (20040517) is called Kalvik. Again a Canadian (from Nova Scotia) with a nordic name. Very interesting. The sponsor of the America’s Cup challange “Victory Challange”, Jan Stenbeck, used to call his companies something …vik. For instance, Kinnevik. The word “Vik” means bay. The word “Kal” means “without any soil or grass”. By the way, Jorvik is the old name of York, simply meaning the horsebay. Thus, we understand that New York… Well, the only (so far) viking “arceologic site” on American soil is found in Nova Scotia, on L’Anse aux Meadows.

Hi michaelb!
Common knowledge of a true Booster!
Google on:
“Jan Stenbeck” kinnevik gives 460 hits. For instance:
se.fc.yahoo.com/jan_stenbeck.html
I visited the Jorvik viking centre in York some years ago. Some Google results (of 8470 hits): www.vikingjorvik.com and www.jorvik-viking-centre.co.uk/
Again, google on viking Nova Scotia results in 37400 hits. For instance:
www.pedalandseaandvantures.com/newfoundland.html
I hope I have spelled the sites corrctly. I didn’t manage to copy them in…
