The Ashburn Model Yacht Club (AMYC) will be hosting a club championship for the Footy class on July 26th. This is an AMYA black chevron event designed to ‘crown’ our club champion; however, it is open to all Footy skippers–the more competition the better! The championship will be sailed at Lake Anne in Reston Virginia. Reston is located in Northern Virginia, about 15 miles West of Washington D.C… This event is a great excuse to visit the Nation’s Capital during the summer. The venue is near perfect as Lake Anne has a boardwalk that runs the entire length of the course and has a multitude of shops that surround the lake.
