Scott Spacie has passed on

While the Italians squabble over who did what to whom, I just lost one of my best friends…a man I loved like a brother. And we have lost one of the greatest skippers and Footy enthusiasts who ever picked up a radio.

After fighting cancer for several years, Scott Spacie died a few days ago. I can’t tell you how much I will miss him…but I’ll bet he’s up there comparing Footy design ideas with Angus right now.

Footy people, Scott’s passing brings home what is really important…and big egos fighting over little boats is NOT. Our common love of Footys and each other is what makes this class special. I suggest you all take a step back and get things in better perspective.

My eyes are too blurred to type any more.

Rip. :frowning:

sorry not readed this:
“I suggest you all take a step back and get things in better perspective.”

Ok and rip again for now.

Dang. Scott will be missed. RIP Scott.

From the Raleigh regatta, he loaned out 2 boats that day.

Thank you for letting all of us know. I enjoyed corresponding with Scott from time to time, and he just couldn’t convince me to try a boat that small. Likewise I could never convince him to try a “BIG” multihull.

So sorry to hear of his passing. Please pass on condolences to his family.
