Safran Open 60

Hi Paulin,
my rudders are connected tio the servo on the starboard side only with a “L” shape servo horn (just like airplane servo)

The sails are made to about the size of IOM “C” rig, in order to handle extreme sailing conditions, like in this new video here

Now that looks really good.
My only suggestion would be to fit a jib boom for better control of the sail shape on a reach.
Well done Gerald.

Hi Gerald
Is it possible for me to get the drawings for the 1.25m version.
I am building a mini Transat at 1/7 scale but I am looking for a bigger boat all ready
Regards Kostas

Due to popular requests, I have decided to release the plans of the Safran

Note that the just launched Safran 2014 is basically the same boat, but with an added chine close to the deck, like the Macif (my other post)

The Safran and Macif were designed by the same French naval architect, 6 or 7 sister boats

If you intend to build this design, use a combination of marblehead and IOM parts

I diddnt, because I cannot afford to buy those parts. Built my own.

Hi, could you share the sail plan or the design project? I would build an IMOCA 65cm. Thanks
