After consultation with the SCOA Regional Directors we have agreed to interpret the last line of Rule 8.2 to also allow replacement of the upper shroud retaining screws with a through bolt and nut. The screw holes can become worn like the spreader retaining screws and replacement with a through bolt and nut conveys no advantage and avoids having to replace the mast.
This interpretation shall be in effect until the next Class ballot when a revised rule will be proposed for membership approval.
