RG65 Mast Size

Hi

I am building my first RG65 to a Ch Detriche design called “Flipper” Its in his book “Thirty Small Sailing Boats For Great Fun” I am going to use a stayless rig with a C/F mast but am not sure what size tube to use on the plan it says 6/8mm. I do not have any other boats in the area to compair. What size are currently being used around the world?

I normaly Build and Sail IOM’s & the RG65 looks very small but should be a fun sail.

Carbon Fiber with a dia from 6mm at 1mm walls or 7mm at 0.5mm walls
