RE: Newbie from Cork, Ireland

Hello,

I’m not scared either to come on here and say I am attempting to build my first RG65. I’m using the Racing Sparrow book by Bryn Heveldt as a guide but using the RG65 plans that may be downloaded from the Net.

I need to learn the basics of model yacht building so I decided this was the best approach. If I make a respectable job of it the same build methodology can be used for other models. I’d love to build a large model of B.B. Crowninshields’ Dark Harbour 17.5’!!

Anyway I’m based in Cork, Ireland and we are attempting to get four or five boats together so that we can register the class here in Ireland. We have formed the Cork Model Yacht Club and currently the majority of members (about seven at the moment) are sailing IOMs. We want to introduce the RG65 class as a starter boat class as IOMs are relatively more expensive.

Best Regards

That’s awesome…
