Just wishing … somehow a mosquito breeding pond loaded with algae and sub-surface weeds just doesn’t compare. Most of our nice clear ponds are in the middle of some big building complex with strange (??) winds. :mad:

Now, now Dick,we’re not all that uncivilized in this country. After all, don’t forget your neighboring community of Edina, Minnesota which offers a wonderful venue called Centenial Lakes. These were created out of former gravel quarries when the area was commecially developed under the guidance of the City of Edina. These photos are taken from the Edina Model Yacht Club website

The only downside of the location is wind turbulance created by nearby buildings, but probably not any worse than the trees at the Italian site.

For radio sailing, the sail number is usually the last two digits of the hull number. In some countries, there is a licence granted for a personal number, so here the sail number is different from the hull number if you hold such a licence…
