Ordering an IOM

A question here…when ordering a boat (my case an IOM) are the VAT (value added taxes) included, are they to be payed in the country where the boat is produced? or imported?

Was just wondering…any suggestions?

Thanks

wis, normally vat is not charged when the boat is sold over seas. i.e. if i buy a boat from sailsetc and have it shipped outside of uk, i dont have to pay the 14% vat.

[;-xmas]WIS, You do not pay the local tax in the country of origin when an item manufactured in that country is exported.[:-witch]
You may be hit with some local tax in your country of residence.
That varies from country to country.[:-wiltel]
Most times if the manufacturer is switched on and his declaration form says Toy Yacht and the declared value is not over the top it will arrive on your doorstep duty and tax free.[:-vamp]

Do it NOW before it`s too late.

great great great!!
