… Newport, RI is Saturday, 15 May. The exhibit is together, 65 model yachts, trophies, vane gears and educational displays. And if you show up on Saturday you get a photo op with Bill Bithell, 93 years young, who brought the Yachting Monthly trophy to the US for the first time in 1948. Along with Bill will be the replica he built of the boat he did it with. Oh, yeah, and the trophy is on display too – model yachting’s equivalent to the America’s Cup. Not to be missed
