NOR: Northern Virginia Multi Regatta Weekend (11-12 September 2010)

The Northern Virginia Model Yacht Club (NVMYC) will be hosting back-to-back Victoria class regattas on 11 and 12 September 2010. The events will be sailed at the Washington Sailing Marina, located in Alexandria Virginia.

The first regatta is the Leukemia Cup–This event is a fund raiser in support of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. We will sail in conjunction with the full-sized boats of the Potomac River Sailing Association (PRSA). A $100 entry/donation fee is requested of all skippers (sponsorship is highly encouraged). Details for the event, and registration, can be found at: http:\ We expect a large number of spectators and would love to have a strong showing of R/C skippers, so please consider attending. If you cannot participate in person, donations are greatly appreciated. Several club members have donation websites that can be accessed through the event page (click through the donation links and search for a club members name.
The second regatta is the PRSA Presidents Cup/NVMYC Victoria Club Championship–This event will be sailed in conjunction with the PRSA full-sized boats and will serve as our clubs annual Victoria Class Championship. Information about this event can be found at: Additionally, the NOR’s are posted in the files section of this group or you can visit our club www page at:

If the sailing is not enough to convince you to attend, there will also be food, drinks, raffles, and entertainment all weekend long.
