Hello,

well, my name is Pat and I’m in Albuquerque, New Mexico in the US of A. I’ve been watching the folks sail at our pond for a while now, and decided i needed to get off my duff and get into the sport. I’ve never scratch built anything, so am very excited and more than a bit nervous about getting things going. I’m starting off with a JIF 65, but am open to suggestions about what the easiest build would be for a complete novice. :slight_smile:

The jiff was my first attempt and I had a blast doing it :slight_smile:

I think the boat choice is also quite dependant on the wind strength. Maybe put up your conditions and the guys can recommend which hulls are best.
You could also chat to the guys at your pond and see if they’ve built anything specific, then they can give help with the build.
