Yves Parlier’s extraordinary new planning cat has been launched. Interesting facts gleaned from the Daily Sail:
- the boat is 60’loa and 50’ wide-one of the widest beam to length ratio’s for a big cat ever.
- the boat is one ton lighter than the closest of the existing Open 60 tris.
- Designed to have 4 times less drag when planning than the eqivalent non-planning hull form.
- Several rc models were built in the testing phase of design…
- The boat uses twin side by side rigs similar to but different than “Team Phillips”.
