Jib Counter Weight

I am looking to add a jib counter weight to my Mistral.
Can someone tell me how you can figure out how much weight you need and how do know where to place it? How do you balance a jib?

Hi Tom

My understanding is that you need as much weight as balances the jib boom… I have a few words in a page on my site:
