IOM Triple Crown going well in a breeze

Just checking out some results over lunchtime. I see at a recent event in the UK, Newton Anthony, sailing a Triple Crown, took two 1st places in a fresh breeze, and managed 6th overall in the regatta - never placing worse than 10th in a fleet of 20. From what I can see from the report, it was B and C rig conditions throughout.

Food for thought. Although we’ve always appreciated that the TC is an excellent design, rightly or wrongly I’d tagged it as a light airs boat. I haven’t seen one sailing downunder yet.
Any owners care to comment on how they are finding their boat performs in the stronger breezes?

Hi Muzza,
A couple of TC’s over here in Sydney & they perform great in a breeze. Its as good as any boat around especially hard pressed downwind.
If anything very light A rig conditions would be her weakest point if it has one. One was sailed here by Dan weizman over the past weekend in a NSW GP Round & had some good placings at the front end. Winch trouble on day 1 took him out of a few races, otherwise O/A place would have been higher. Sat was Fresh B/C conditions & Sunday light A Rig.
Cheers

While were at it, I think Greg Vasileff has a particularly good looking triple crown that he built last year. You can check it out here:
