Flat Pack Mini40 Tri

Hi All

I have just stated to build this plywood Mini40 designed by Mike Dann. So far I have built the Cross beams and the two outer hull’s the main hull is still just a shell. I plan to fit a Hi Tec big servo with the Sailsetc 100mm dia drum I have used this on my IOM’s and it is very fast which I am told is an advantage on the tri. Dave Creed is making me some some foils and a rudder with a wing I will be using his Marblehead rudder blade as a main fin. My next big step is the sail plan I aim to use at head sail but am not sure of the exact sizes. I have only ever seen te tri’s sailing once at the recent U/K Nationals at Gosport. So I have a very steep learning curve. I hope to get others in my club “Dartmoor Radio Sailing Club” Interested.
When I have some I will post somephoto’s

Hi John,

Good to meet you down at Gosport - keep us informed and send me some pics for the UK site…

Cheers,

Cookie

Hi All
I have nearly finished building the Tri waiting for the sails and the to build the rigs. With any luck I will post some pictures of the build if I do not manage I will invite you to my Flickr posting. The estimated all up finished weight is 3.1/3.2 Kg not bad for a wood boat fitted with a RMG winch and conventional batteries
