Do I need to reduse lines by balsa plank thickness

I am thinking of building my first IOM (Triple crown) using class over balsa plank method.

I have downloaded the free lines from MYA-UK.
My question is if I am using 3mm Balsa do I need to reduce the “lines / shadows” by 3mm?

Also for the novice builder is this the best way to go, or jump into the deep end and try using a mold?

Yes to the questions. Reduce by balsa thickness and yes to building this boat. I did and it sails very well. Good heavy air boat. :zbeer:

By the way, my boat came out lighter then a lot of glass molded IOMs, so go ahead and build from wood. I actually used pine on the hull, not balsa, but for the deck.
