How big does the keel/centreboard on an RC sailboat have to be? I don’t have much of one on the one that I’m making. Are there any rules relating keel to hull and/or sail size? I am not intending this boat to race, just to work.

Tell me what your length over all (LOA) Length Water Line (LWL) and mast height and sail area is and I can give you a ball park figure on what your keel length and weight will need to be.
I don’t really have it all built yet, but my LOA is about 77 cm, my LWL is about 74 cm, its going to be two-masted with a couple jibs, so conservatively 2200 cm^2. In english units its 37.5" LOA, 29.1" LWL and 341 sqin. Sail area
Can you tell me if it is necessary to have the big long deep keel like you see on the storebought models, or can you have a more shallow keel that runs the entire length of the boat like on the old schooners (“bluenose” comes to mind)? The attached picture explains what I mean.
