BOATCAM?

i always get these offers in my mailbox from e-vendors about those miniature spy ccv cameras. i was just wondering if any of you guys have tried or think that its possible to mount one of these gadgets on an rc sailboat and record film clips while sailing.

Two guys that I know over here have mounted one on each of there boats (scale Australia 2) before and sailed the boat. It sent footage back to a tv they had with them and they sat and watch the footage while sailing.

Very cheap to buy, and easy to set up.

peter,
does it transmit signals on the normal uhf band or does it use bluetooth technology?what is the power supply for the ccv camera?it must be light enough so as not to affect the trim of the boat.

You might look in the recently removed posts now in the archives ;there was a topic under “Technology” that had some info.
I put a video transmitter and camera on an rc heli 18 years ago; then it was expensive with heavy components. Now it is inexpensive and every component is lightweight-piece of cake these days…

I have a camera, but I don’t have the time to record video yet. It was supposed to go in the towboat.
