Ed,
What kind of cam did you use?
One of those “spy” cams? or an usual one…I got a “spy” cam…but cant connect it to my video or camcorder…so it makes it hard to record stuff!

wis,
its a sony cybershot U, DSC-U60. basically a water proof digital camera. i made a mount out of blue extruded foam and used double adhesive strips to stick it on the deck. the sticky tape just cant handle the rough and tumble of the sea plus moisture and keeps on un sticking from the deck. i am in the process of making a better alternative so i can shoot short film clips facing forward and astern. nice thing about this is i can film the sail shape and adjust the trim to get the best shape.

velcro is the answer…maybe?

I got one of the $30 spy cams on EBay about a year ago (now they have them with sound) and just taped it onto the boat and it worked ok.

I can’t keep the signal very well, and I increased the battery from a standard 9v to a 9.2 car battery (that should power it for a month) and it helped signal strength some… I think. It takes a good deal of light to get a good image, but it was a lot of fun. I need to upload some of the clips.

hey Larry, you think a 7 or 8 cell battery could do the job?

Mine has also sound…but as you say it needs some “light”…though they now have IR cams…

I got mine from www.inesun.com
