Americas cup gossip

60lb custom made foot locker. the size of a coffee table… not some 2lb envelope that can fall off the loading dock…

2 boats, 6 rigs, 7 keels and rudders… two Tx’s 4 Rx’s spare parts… clothes… tools, et… Sigh…

we checked it in to a fedex facility. it left the fedex facility went 20 miles to their hub scanned twice. and then Poof…

and in hindsight…not insured for enough… who woulda thunk…

Fed Ex has found the case…

YAY…

I got two emails and three phone calls from different people letting me know about an hour ago…

Nice to see that the folks at fed ex take their job seriously. They said the label came off… and the pics of the case i took when I shipped and the extra shipping label inside were the key…

that is pure incompetence - don’t get why they won’t be liable regardless cos shipping is their business - they are failing on their core business activity - unforgivable

it like as if you deposit noney in the bank and they say sorry we dont know where ur money is gone !!!

sorry about typos typing with my right hand only cos my daughter is sleeping on my left one !

from a customer service standpoint, I don’t think they ever gave up looking for it once I noticed that it had stopped moving and brought it to their attention. a few pictures of the case and extra shipping labels inside made it easier for them to find.

Salt lake city is a long way form Virginia, but hopefully it will be home by monday…

the key is don’t “under insure”

Great news Marc … have not lost a boat in transit (touch wood) making sure name and contact numbers are written packaging has saved the bacon more than once…cheap insurance against lost labels.

Christ!! I sincerely hope Nathan O is playing at subterfuge (all be it not too well!) giving the impression that foiling is going to be a steep learning curve! Time really is running against them…

Row

Cocky ocka :wink:

I didn’t expect ETNZ would be announcing their top secret weapon so soon - I was hoping to get great results this season too by taking increasd volume of the black stuff - though here in Ireland we also have another secret black stuff unknown to this day GUINNESS - ooops did I just say that in a public forum !!! dam it !

Now the other teams definitely have no chance !!! LOL

Now that is what the grinders are used for :stuck_out_tongue: cool

With Luna Rossa leasing a 65,400 square foot former air plane hangar at Alameda Point next door to Artemis … have to love the sign that have put up today facing the Artemis hangar

:lol::lol::lol:

Isn’t the ACWS supposed to start soon?

APRIL 18… you are a few days late…

not bad racing. one collision. its all available on the Americas cup you tube channel…

So that’s all until the LV Cup starts.

July 4…

O.R have boat 2 on the water … JS happy camper now with a stiff one :smile3:

Looks like BA now gets the hand-me-down floopy Boat 1

//youtu.be/ItiZuU64pnc

still looks like some twist in the frame, Is till think etnz is a more stable platform… Maybe Oracle can sell boat #1 to another team and get another player in the LV cup…

I still keep thinking that it would make a nice day sailor; :slight_smile: to get in and take wifie to the bayside restaurant across the bay for a “quick dinner.” Finding a parking space would be the only problem, but I’m sure a dinghy would fit somewhere.:stuck_out_tongue:

Would someone please send them a message suggesting a video of a water skiier? :propeller

The more I think of it, I don’t seem to mind thinking about the Cup going to reside in NZ for a little while. The Kiwis have great skill and lately they have a good sporting attitude. At the least they speak English and the time zone is perfect for watching afternoon races during my evening hours! ::slaphappy

OR 2 may be flying but my money still is on ETNZ has they still have the best overall package.

The U.S. IOM National Championship, is currently being at Pier 80 in San Francisco, CA – Home of the America’s Cup defender Oracle Team USA …OR are providing food & drinks and planned tour of OR facility for all participants …that’s pretty cool :cool:

Few guys in OR sail RC :slight_smile:
