There is a big announcement on the legal status of the Americas Cup Challenge relating to the challenger of record.

The New York Supreme court has thrown out the previous ruling against the Spanish Team and in favour of the Golden Gate yachting group and has re-instated the Spanish team.
One restriction with the GG challenge was that it was to be in 90 foot catamarans and would not allow multiple challengers (ie no Louis Vuitton Cup elimination challenge).
The new ruling puts the boats back in the Americas Cup Class (ACC) boats and will allow multiple challengers.
It reads that there is still a possibility of a further appeal by the GG group.
