[:)] Nice try Wis - but only half a solution - what about new topics that if not read as one of the first few, disappear? Also, a topic needs to be posted first in order to subscribe, which means looking at dates of all old messages to try to decide it it’s been viewed before.
[:-bulb] Option is to just let them build up until the problem is fixed and they don’t disappear, but then the responses/replys aren’t there and soon the interest in the form disappears as well. [:-cry]

First, I am very sorry for the troubles, but we are all in the same “boat”.
It also appears that Chad can’t find a solution…I tried different browsers…always the same story.
Here’s something I came up with…
First I join rcsailing.net with this url:
http://www.rcsailing.net/forum1/active.asp
and then I read the “active” new topics in a new window (I open them in a new window)
I know, its not even half the solution, but it’s the best I can do.

Wis’ URL works great for pulling ‘active’ topics, and I don’t even have to view in a new window, I’m having (finally) good luck just using the ‘back’ button.
Still a pain in the south end…

Wis - no apologies needed. But - what significantly changed and when was it that started causing the problem?
I have even tried logging out and back on to refresh cache, but that hasn’t worked. Now today (new example) I was able to read all of the new topic postings, used back arrow, went to next topic and got through all of them (6?) without having lost a one, or having the unread ones disappear. Strange. Server issues at Chad’s host is a likely culprit, since we <u>all</u> can’t be having browser problems - especially when the problem is there when different browsers are used by different people via different ISP providers.
I would say it is definitely a “Snitz Forums” issue. They show 2000 - so do ya suppose technology in software has advanced in the past almost 5 years? [:-bigeyes2]

Active Topics;
When they disappear I just scroll down the lists looking for “todays” date.
Better than trying to remember what the Topics were, before they cleared off!.

Well seeing as I can’t find anybody else with a similar problem (other snitz Boards) I will try doing a fresh install of the forum. Well actually I m going test out a fresh install first. If it works then I ll try it on here and see what happens.

Chad - one pattern I have detected, is that when I click a link and a new page opens, after closing the new page, all the topics (viewed or not) are gone from the active topics list.
Perhaps this will assist in tracking down the problem.
