A little on the small side

Heres a “little” something I have been working on.
Actually sails better than I thought it would.
Bit of fun…“Grin factor” is quite high sailing this model!!

Hi Brett has Peanut got bulb or fin keel and how much lead is in the keel . Nice Model

Hi Steve,
Bulb keel.
all up weight is 120g.
Only 40g on the bulb at present.I am using 2 x 9g servos and 3 1/3AAA nicads.
will change to 4g servos and a LiPo battery to increase the ballast ratio.
I can also squeeze out another 5 g by swapping to a lighter RX.

Hull was built over a foam plug using 2 layers of light glass.Deck is balsa with one layer glass.
Rudder is balsa, keel fin 2mm thick cedar.
Mast is 3mm dia cedar tapered to 1.5mm at the top.
Sails from very light Mylar film.

A 4 inch version is in the works…

Brett

Come on, you know you could do a 2" one!

Luff 'em & leave 'em.

Just leave out the servos and you could get it as small as you like.
Seriously, thats really cool,
All you need is an electric fan and a bath tub.
Cheers
