Rusty Nail…thanks much for the info. Already have my first unarig built and playing with the sail settings. Looking forward to the nest Footy sail day.
One thing I note in Andy’s design and in the attached German McRigs, is that the rake angle of the tack does not put the mast head above the pivot.
This was a feature of the McRig that provides balance, and I wonder how these others perform?
Another thing that bothers me is the low aspect rigs that a lot of the US Footys seem to use (no longer a necessary solution to storm rigs with the rule change).
