1st Annual Conco de Mayo RG65 Regatta

Titusville Model Sailing Club #95
1st Annual Cinco de Mayo RG65 Regatta Report
On Saturday May 5th Titusville Model Sailing Club hosted its first annual RG65 class regatta. We believe the first RG65 regatta in Florida.
Turn out for the regatta was limited due to various travel plans family and medical issues for some. We however managed to have six competitive boats turn out for a beautiful day on the lake. Winds were moderate and steady from the ENE from 5-7, temperatures were a Florida comfortable 84!
Skippers meeting kicked off at 12:15 and racing began at 12:30 The boats then competed for a total of ten heats with two throw outs for the final low point scoring totals.
The following are the results:
1st Place George Reed 10 points sailing a modified AC65A Design hull w/swing rig
2nd Place Art Lent 14 points sailing an Art Lent designed hull w/sloop rig
3rd Place Dennis Dwyer 20 points sailing a Blue Splash hull w/swing rig
4th Place Rich Phillips 26 points sailing an Art Lent hull w/sloop rig
5th Place Charlie Tumey 39 points sailing a Racing Sparrow hull w/swing rig
6th Place Dick Ruffe 55 points sailing an Orco2 65 hull w/swing rig
Hopefully this annual event will become more popular as the class grows in size. We look forward to next year!!
