Dear Claudio

First of all, congatulations for the boats and thanks for sharing your expertise.

I’m building the 240mm long vintage America’s Cup style boat. It is my first RC sailboat ever.

Is a 40g overall equipment (battery, servos, and receiver) too much for this ship? My main problem regards battery. I’ll try to use a 460mAh 2 cell lipo and a 6g bec… It is heavy but is the equipment I have. Otherwise, I’ll try to scale it up a little, maybe to 1foot long. What would you reccomend me?
The hull will be 0.5mm thick vacuum formed styrene.

Thanks for answering and sorry for my very poor knowlege about the subject.

Hi Claudio.
I build a mould from your design. I hope that you are not mad at me :smilebig:

The first hull came out yesterday. We are going to have mini regata in our pool

I will keap you updated…

The design. I inport your drawing in AvtoCAD and “re write” your lines. Then I scale the layer in right dimentions and print:

For testing we will use the servos that we got in our workshop.
For the “race” we will buy a 4.5grams servos

Have a nice one

Check it out

But I think that the rig must be slightly moved to the back. I will build another one and see the result…
