As for the new rig…I will try to sail her…after some time to get a new rig and sail…
(hmmm thinking of getting a good 36/600 directly instead of upgrading this one LOL)
wis,
why is it that your first pics of the jib boom shows that it was straight? then the next pics shows the jib boom bent and installed the wrong way? is this suppose to improve the jib’s shape and performance?
ed
Ed,
After some talking here, I’ve bent the boom to fit the jib…thats why the boom is bent! now as for the wrong way installation…well if I change the jib boom, it will fit the jib even better…well its kind of difficult to change it now, so I just tried to make the jib fit the job boom better!
As performance and shape,
“So the curved boom allows you to have much better control of the foot shape of the sail”
I am just following and trying things out…of course I didnt try it yet…a few more weeks!
I’ve also seen many people bending their boom on the Sagami Club (only pics) and the try1fleet!
wis,
i see what you mean. the innovator’s gooseneck seems to be fixed. do you alter the mail sail twist by adjusting the main’s out haul? what do you intend to do to modify the flexible keel fin? carbon fiber? it seems that you have a lot of work cut out ahead
ed
At first I will sail her and see how she’s reacting…then (I am already sure) I will get a new rig and sails…
You told me before about the rudder…so I guess that will be next…as for the keel…it doesnt look that bad!
the wind was light…but I had tons of fun…it was also the first time I sailed with someone…[:-spin]
For the one interested:[:-thumbu]
I took the SW and gave the Innovator to my friend who has NEVER sailed or touched anything with sailing…and I couldn’t catch with the Innovator…after I tried myself…and yes the Innovator is FASTER than the SW…
I must also say that, I need to work on the sails, but again thanks for all the advices about the rig…it did work…[:-captain]
wis,
a little advise, dump the stock sails and get a suit from a proven sailmaker. you’ll find that the aftermarket sails from known makers are a lot easier to tune and set, aside from giving you better performance.

well…you ll be disappointed this time…light wind all the way…but…next time, it ll be better…already preparing buoys for the next time…match racing!!! and we ll go to another lake…wavy and more wind [:p] [:D]
