Open footy

here is the hatch plug with first graphite coat.

here is the 4th lay-up, and somewhat final schedual, glass fiber hull.

this is an expensive test proto. muckin about with the latex and the vac.
some left over scrap from the spirit of canada. is this thing ever f_ _ king stiff.

looks interesting! … lookin’ forward to seein’ how she sails!

maybe you could see how she sails. when i get a batch done, i’ll sed some out to a few, so they can see if they work. something about yer board name i like.

fun, look forward to hearing more about your project.

these are some of the hulls, i will be giving out for tests.
still got to finish the other molds that make up the whole boat. (deck, hatch, transom, keel, bulb, centerbox, rudder, and what not.
seeing that there are many budding manufacturers starting (me included), i won’t be sending out any r&d models untill copyrights come in.
very easy to flash another’s brain child.

here they are

i understand how you are careful with your ideas… but no one here will rob you nigel… [at least, i don’t think so! =P]:stuck_out_tongue:

got the first test canopy out the mold. comes in at 5.5 grams.

first footies were 500 - 600+ disp. and wide, now they seam lighter and narrower.

i remember a time when a certain “narrow”, “light”, “open”, “footy” recieved a lot of flack. might dig out that old plug and muck about. might leave be.

funny how things end up…

Nigel! Stop! I can’t remember what we worked tghe weight of that one was going to have to be, but I think it’s still even beyond even your arts - although we have all lerarned a lot recently.

all right, all right. i was stirring the pot a little.

it now seams there are wide “open” types, narrow “AC” types, that interesting black boat with the tall bow (forgot the name), and some multi’s done, and coming. i wonder what’s next…proas maybe? J’s?

ps, i’m currently busy with a bigger J, and when done, if i don’t see any micro-J’s, i’ll cook some up.
