A lot of pleasure reading You.
Don’t forget to paint the inside of the hull with epoxy for two reasons : increasing strenght of planking and wood protection against humidity/water spills during wet sanding

The AC100 class finally started with two new boats for Italy.
The first 2 italians AC100 went to water this week end.
3 films are availables here : http://www.ac100.it/forum/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=123
It appears that some tuning is still needed, nevertheless the lateral stabilty appears quite good still with rig N° 1 with 8-12 knots and waves.
Good hope for the future !
While enjoying the event, a New AC100 Vintage Style is just drawn, see attachment.

Hi Eupon, boat looks to have better weight distribution (not wanting to sail on it’s nose) if I understand your video correctly you moved bulb CG back 21 mm to now be “aligned with Hull CB” ? How do you find the helm balance with this new position, better, worse or still needs more tuning ?
The reason I ask is that I have the same AC 100-A hull with same sails 56 dm2 sail area from Luca.
Looking at Claudio’s plans he has the Bulb CG @ 9-10 mm “behind the Hull CB” that’s another 10 mm further back again than what you have now …which suggests you may have heavy lee helm (wants to turn away from the wind) with your current position ? little confused therefore very interested in your feedback.
Cheers Alan
The ‘helm’ of the boat is more a function of sail COE and hull/fin CLR. If the fin was moved aft, then the mast would need to be moved aft. But just moving the ballast without moving the fin should have negligible effect on helm balance.

The only problem I see with that idea is, what happens if the elastic deteriorates and fails? Then the deck has to be cut into
Here are a pile of designs to think about! http://www.stockmaritime.com/modellboote/ac/designs.php?seite=0&navi_reiter=0

Hi all, Attached a couple of photos of my AC100 PRADA during first sail of 2011. Could only get a couple of pictures as
battery in camera died. Will have some more soon. I extremely please with the boat and how it sails. Perfect.

Thank you Eupon, but I would recommend that if you wish to continue posting interesting technical advances on as a variation of Claudio’s AC 100 concept, it would be best not to confuse readers by having diiferent topics on the same thread, please seriously consider this for the sake of clarity for our forum members.
Further, we will remove posts #114 through to #133 from this thread.
Thank you for your understanding. Alan
The aggressive and argumentative nature of posts here have been deleted. As the title of the thread suggest - this is discussion for the AC100 CLASS of boats. If there are variations, modifications, etc. that require a boat to be called “Extreme” (or whatever) a new thread is available.
Eupon, if you wish to start a new thread, feel free to do so - and call it something other than AC100 so other readers will know. If you have questions on how to start a thread, PM me and I will be happy to start the thread witha single post, and discussion about the “EXTREME” class can go on there.
What starts out as a disagreement and exchange of ideas can quickly turn “ugly” and it is why all threads were removed. Discussion is great, some arugments are acceptable, but disagreements MUST remain polite and civil.
Thank you, and feel free to PM me if you wish to discuss further.
